OUR SERVICES / Preventive and Periodontal Services

Prevention plays an important role in having good oral health. Regular visits for consultations and cleanings can be very assertive and will help patients discover oral diseases since the beginning. Our Hygienist specializes in this type of treatments and procedures encouraging the patients with Oral Hygiene Instructions and promoting healthier smiles.

We have implemented a Soft Tissue Management Program oriented to the prevention and/or treatment of Periodontal Disease. Part of that therapy incorporates the use of highly developed antibiotic substances that are selectively placed in the area of the specific problem after careful removal of the foreign substances that cause the infection of the tissues. The most important part of the treatment is your compliance and dedication to the therapy, oral hygiene and home care.

Periodontal Disease is an infection that destroys the soft and hard tissues around your teeth, gums as well as the bone that holds the teeth in place.

Prevention plays an important role in having good oral healthResearch has showed that three out of four people have warning signs of having a periodontal condition. Furthermore, it has been found that the incidence of certain medical conditions increases if the person has periodontal disease, some examples of these conditions are heart disease, weakened Immune System, Diabetes, Pre-term low birth babies, Respiratory issues .

In its earlier stages it can be successfully treated, but once the disease progresses into the advanced stages it will create movement of the affected teeth, extreme destruction of the tissues that keep the teeth in place and will only be controlled by periodic gum treatment (commonly known as Deep Cleanings), with surgical treatments (surgical root planning and scaling) which means that the damage is now irreversible and or with extractions of teeth.

If you clench or grind your teeth periodically, and have periodontal disease, you may experience an accelerated rate of bone lose and disease since the presence of abnormal forces will negatively affect the periodontal condition.
